Spell Hopper
Spell Hopper is a word ladder game played on a night pond. A small spark sits on a stepping stone with a four-letter word on it, and the goal word waits on an island across the water. You cross by changing one letter at a time, and every new word becomes the next stone. Meanwhile the tide rises behind you, so you have to keep moving.
How to play
- Tap a letter of the current word, then tap its replacement on the letter pad. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys or 1 to 4 to choose a letter, then type the new one.
- If the result is a real word, the spark hops to a new stone. If it is not, the tide surges a little.
- Each hop lifts you one stone clear of the water. If the tide reaches your stone, the run is over.
- Every level has a par. Reach the goal in fewer hops than par for three stars, on par for two, and over par for one.
- Tap Hop back to step back to your last stone, or use Reveal next step once per level.
Tips
Watch the spark. It flares bright and says closer when a hop really brings you nearer the goal, and it dims when you drift away. Grey ghost stones show how many hops the shortest route needs. If the tide wins, the level stays the same on your next try, so you can use the route shown on the end screen. Three-star levels in a row build a score multiplier, and every third level clears a pond for a bonus.
