Fit Cells
Fit Cells is a calm spatial puzzle on an 8 by 8 grid. You get a tray of three pieces and place them wherever they fit. Pieces stay where you put them, so nothing falls and there is no timer: every choice is about keeping space open. Fill a whole row or column and it clears. Glowing charged cells appear on the grid as you play, and any line that clears one scores double, or more if it holds several. Your run is saved after every piece, so you can leave and pick it up later.
How to play
- Drag a piece from the tray onto the grid. On a touch screen the piece floats above your finger so you can see where it lands.
- Fill every cell in a row or column to clear it. Clearing two or more lines at once multiplies the score again.
- Each charged cell in a clearing line adds one to its multiplier, so one gives x2 and two give x3.
- Tap a tray piece to rotate it. You only get a few rotations per run, and each new stage adds one.
- Clear lines on nearby turns to build a streak bonus.
- When no tray piece can fit, the run is over. Once per run you can swap the whole tray.
Tips
Keep the middle of the grid open, since long pieces need a clear row or column to land in. Try to leave a gap that fits the largest piece you could be dealt, and do not spend rotations early. Before finishing a line, look for a charged cell you can add to it, because waiting one turn can double the points. On a keyboard, press 1, 2 or 3 to pick a piece, the arrow keys to move it, R to rotate and Enter to place.
